In a typical case of how AI can make you a millionaire, a 22-year-old Indian medical student earned thousands of dollars by creating and operating the Instagram and Facebook pages of "Emily Hart", an AI-generated MAGA influencer.
"Sam", an orthopaedic surgeon in training, asked Google Gemini AI to make "hot-girl" images of a conservative twenty-something woman in bikini inspired by Jennifer Lawrence and Sydney Sweeney.
And that became a money-minting machine for Sam, who previously struggled with money as his efforts of YouTube content creation and selling study notes went in vain. As he began posting images of the fictional persona in bikini, thousands of dollars started coming his way.
The content was aimed at the conservative audience because the AI had reportedly told him that "the conservative audience (especially older men in the US) often has higher disposable income and is more loyal."
Soon, Emily Hart's posts and videos started getting million of views.
As per reports, one post showed the fictional character firing a rifle with the caption: "If you want a reason to unfollow: Christ is king, abortion is murder, and all illegals must be deported," while another caption read, "POV: You were assigned intelligent at birth, but you identify as liberal."
Sam monetized the accounts on Fanvue and made some extra income by selling off MAGA-themed merchandise.
In February, the account was taken down by Instagram for "fraudulent" activity, while the Facebook page is reportedly still active.
"I was spending maybe 30 to 50 minutes of my day, and I was making good money for a medical student," Sam recalled.
"In India, even in professional jobs, you can't make this amount of money. I haven't seen any easier way to make money online."
Calling the MAGA crowd an easy prey for such content, Sam said, "The MAGA crowd is made up of dumb people-like, super dumb people. And they fall for it."
Sam now plans to go back to focusing on his medical studies while also already having thousands of dollars in his account.
