Gundlupet: A video clip of a wild jumbo chasing a motorbike rider on the national highway passing through Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Gundlupet taluk, Chamarajanagar district, has gone viral on social media.

A wild jumbo has been frequently spotted stopping the trucks plying on the road loaded with vegetables and trying to drag the bags to feed on them.

Similarly, the jumbo tried to chase a motorbike rider, who abandoned the bike and fled to save his life.

Even though Forest Department personnel tried to chase the jumbo into the forest, attempts at it turned futile.

Hence, Bandipur Assistant Conservator of Forest Naveen Kumar has promised to drive the jumbo into the forest, when the vehicle density is less.

However, environmentalists claim that no steps have been taken by te department even after a week.
