That's Not An Ending - Alexis Bledel And Lauren Graham On Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life

It's not only the fans who want a Season 2 for 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life', Alexis Bledel also wishes for it to happen right away.

Every Gilmore Girls fan in this world is waiting for Netflix to announce Season 2 of 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life ', but more than the fans, Alexis Bledel, who plays Rory Gilmore in the miniseries, is feeling restless about it.

Highlights:

  • Alexis Bledel wants 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life' season 2.
  • The ending wasn't the ending - thinks Lauren Graham.

Though Netflix has neither confirmed anything about season 2 and nor has given any hint. But the cast is eager to return. Most probably because, just like the fans, they too hated the way 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life' ended. In an interview, Alexis Bledel even confessed it openly how much she was unsatisfied with the end of the Miniseries' Season 1.

Alexis Bledel wants 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life' season 2.

'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life' is the revival of the popular TV show Gilmore Girls ended in 2007. The mini-series picked-up the key characters like Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), Rory Gilmore and Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop), from the prequel and carried their storylines forward.

However, Alexis Bedel, who plays Rory Gilmore, a freelance journalist, revealed that she simply hated the kind of ending her character was given in the season one of 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life'.

As per her, she never thought of leading Rory's character through all the struggles in carrier and life. And then giving her an end where she leaves Single and Pregnant.

In an interview during Deadline's Emmy Contender Panel, Alexis Bledel expressed her thoughts about the ending of 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life'.

She said: 'It certainly wasn't the ending I was expecting. I told Amy that I hoped Rory would end on a high note. After all her hard work, I wanted to see her succeed and be thriving. So it was a hard thing for me to digest.'

Alexis went on to state that though she understands that Sherman-Palladino's intentions must have been to complete the story in full-circle. But she hopes that the creators bring the Season 2, in which Rory could get a 'high note' ending.

The ending wasn't the ending - thinks Lauren Graham

Lauren Graham, played Lorelai Gilmore, mother of Rory Gilmore in the 'Gilmore Girls', and her character was again revived in 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life'.

Unlike Alexis, Lauren thinks that the ending for the miniseries wasn't an ending at all. During the interview with Deadline in the 2017 Panel, Lauren said that it wasn't an ending at all, not at least for Rory's character.

She said she wasn't aware of the last four words, and it came as a surprise to her. 'It was a complete surprise to me,' — she said. She insisted that it wasn't an ending but a cliffhanger for Rory's character. She continued, 'and that's not an ending, that's a cliffhanger!'

Was it a cliffhanger, or Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino really ruined the memories of Gilmore Girls for us? What do you think? Will there be a Season 2 of 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life', giving Rory Gilmore a kind of end that Alexis feels she should get?
