Kohima: In a display of unity and compassion, students from the Northeast residing in Punjab held a candlelight vigil to express solidarity with those affected by the ongoing violence in Manipur.

The march, held at Green Valley in Kapurthala district, was organised by the Manipur Students' Union Phagwara, Punjab (MSUP). The peaceful gathering brought together students and community members who stood in silent tribute to the victims and their families.

Participants described the vigil as a collective expression of grief, support, and hope for peace. Candles were lit as a symbol of remembrance, while attendees called for an end to the violence and restoration of normalcy in Manipur.

Executives of the Naga Students' Union Punjab also took part in the solemn event, dressed in traditional Naga attire. The Naga community informed that their presence signals a message of unity and cultural solidarity, as well as a shared commitment to justice and peace.
