Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, and a high-level delegation, visited the Lower Tizu area under Pungro sub-division in Kiphire district from April 10 to 13 to assess ongoing development works.
The delegation included Deputy Chief Minister (Home and Border Affairs) Y Patton; Minister for Rural Development and SIRD Metsubo Jamir; Minister for Women Resource Development and Horticulture Salhoutuonuo Kruse; Advisor for School Education and SCERT Kelhrielhoulie Yhome; Advisor for Geology and Mining and DUDA W Chingang Konyak; Advisor for New and Renewable Energy and NSDMA Z Nyusietho Nyuthe; Advisor for Home Guards, Civil Defence, Fire & Emergency Services, and Relief & Rehabilitation S Kiusumew Yimchunger; MLAs Y M Humtsoe, Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, and Benei M Lamthiu; Commissioner and Secretary for Geology and Mining John Kevi Angami; and OSD for Geology and Mining Kekhriezavi Lea.
During the four-day visit, the Chief Minister and his team inspected several key infrastructure projects undertaken by the Government of Nagaland.
These included the construction of a Tourist Amenities Centre at Lower Tizu and road development works such as the Lower Tizu road via Moya and the Setsu-Lalori-Phor road.
The delegation also visited the Raneak Khen Cave in Mimi village and interacted with members of the Mimi Circle Joint Council. Discussions were held on potential future development initiatives in the region.
The district administration of Kiphire district, along with police personnel, facilitated the visit and ensured its smooth conduct.
