Annapurna Bhandar vs Lakshmi Bhandar; BJP Promises ₹3000 Monthly to Women if Voted to Power

The political battle in West Bengal has intensified as the BJP countered TMC's popular ‘Lakshmi Bhandar’ scheme with its own ‘Annapurna Bhandar’ proposal.

Speaking at a massive rally in Cooch Behar on Sunday, BJP leader Shamik Bhattacharya announced that if the party forms the government, every woman in the state will receive ₹3,000 per month starting from June.

Critiquing the current TMC regime, Bhattacharya stated that the current allowance of ₹1500 is insufficient for families struggling with unemployment. He assured that no existing welfare schemes would be discontinued; instead, the benefits would be doubled. Labeling this as “Narendra Modi's Guarantee,” he emphasized that the BJP’s goal is to stand firmly with the marginalized.

During the same event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the women, highlighting the 33% reservation law as a testament to BJP’s commitment to women’s empowerment. With the TMC relying on the success of Lakshmi Bhandar and the BJP promising a massive hike to ₹3000, the “War of Bhandars” is set to become the most crucial factor in the upcoming elections.
