To ensure a smooth travel experience during the peak season, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has introduced several special trains and extended existing services across key routes to mitigate heavy passenger rush.
Key Special Train Updates:
- NJP-Malda Town (05754/05753): Running from April 10 to April 30, this train will complete 15 trips each way, operating five days a week (Tue, Thu, Fri, Sun, Mon).
- Kanpur Central-Guwahati (04127/04128): This service will run every Thursday and Friday until mid-May, connecting major hubs like Prayagraj and Varanasi.
- Secunderabad-Naharlagun (07046/07047): A weekly special connecting the South to the Northeast, operating through May 2026.
- Amritsar-NJP (04654/04653): Given the high demand, this service has been extended with additional trips until May 1.
Additional services between Guwahati-Jalpaiguri Road and NJP-Balurghat have also been scheduled for April. These special trains, equipped with up to 22 coaches, aim to provide enhanced comfort and security for long-distance commuters.
