The West Bengal state government is reportedly planning a major financial boost for the registered youth under the ‘Yuvashree’ (Yuvashathi) scheme this April.

According to the latest internal directives from Nabanna, the administration is looking to clear pending arrears by crediting two months’ worth of stipends simultaneously. This means eligible candidates could see a lump sum of ₹3000 deposited into their bank accounts instead of the usual monthly ₹1500.

The move comes after several complaints regarding delays in stipend disbursement over the last quarter. Finance Department officials indicate that the technical glitches hindering the fund transfer have been resolved. To avail of this ‘double benefit,’ beneficiaries are advised to ensure that their ‘Annexure-III’ forms are correctly submitted and their Employment Bank profiles are fully updated. While the official announcement is awaited on the public portal, the buzz within administrative circles suggests that the payments will commence within the second week of April, bringing much-needed relief to thousands of unemployed youth across the state.
