In a bid to strengthen his grassroots connection, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari spent the morning of Chaitra Sankranti in his home turf, Nandigram.
Ditching his usual security convoy and luxury vehicles, Suvendu was seen campaigning on a ‘Toto’ (e-rickshaw) in the Kendamari area, navigating through the narrow lanes to meet local residents.
The day began with the BJP leader offering prayers at a local temple on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Sankranti. Following the rituals, he embarked on an extensive public outreach program. Sitting in the humble e-rickshaw, he waved to supporters and interacted with families directly at their doorsteps. The atmosphere in Nandigram was electric, with women blowing conch shells and locals gathering in large numbers to catch a glimpse of their representative. This move is seen as a strategic effort to maintain his image as a ‘son of the soil’ and solidify his bond with the voters ahead of the upcoming political challenges.
