A resident of Bardhaman, Kiran was staying in Kestopur with her partner and worked for a firm in Sector V.

According to police reports, Kiran's partner usually dropped her to the office, but because he overslept today, she booked an app-based bike taxi. Near the RS Software crossing, a government bus on the Karunamoyee-Ghatal route rammed into the bike from behind. The impact threw Kiran onto the road, causing fatal internal injuries. She was rushed to Bidhannagar Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

The Electronic Complex Police have seized the bus and detained the driver. The incident has sparked outrage among commuters who claim that reckless driving and racing between buses during peak office hours have become a daily menace. Despite repeated complaints about the lack of traffic regulation in Sector V, locals allege that authorities have failed to take any concrete action.
