The ‘Banglar Yuva Sathi’ scheme, launched by CM Mamata Banerjee, has seen an overwhelming response from millions of unemployed youths in West Bengal.
While payments of ₹1500 started hitting bank accounts on March 7th, many applicants are still waiting for their first installment.
According to sources, the primary reason for the delay is the massive volume of applications-nearly 1 crore. Those who applied online are seeing faster processing as their data is already integrated. However, offline applications submitted via ‘Duare Sarkar’ camps are being manually entered, slowing down the verification process.
Common Reasons for Rejection or Delay: * Duplicate Benefits: If you are already receiving benefits from Lakshmir Bhandar, Krishak Bandhu, or Yubashree, you are ineligible.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be between 21 and 40 years old as of April 1, 2026.
- KYC Issues: A lack of Aadhaar linking (DBT) or errors in voter ID uploads are major hurdles.
Applicants are advised to check their status on the official portal: yubasathi.wb.gov.in. For further assistance, a dedicated helpdesk is available at 6292248888. Government officials assure that all eligible candidates will receive their funds once the verification is complete.
