The Bengali film industry continues to witness a grim phase as veteran director Agnidev Chatterjee was rushed to a private hospital on the EM Bypass following a stroke.
The director had been experiencing blurred vision and difficulty walking, which medical tests later confirmed as a stroke. After spending critical days in the ICU, his condition stabilized, allowing him to be discharged for home-based care.
However, a dramatic situation unfolded when his wife, popular host Sudipa Chatterjee, suddenly fainted at the hospital while completing discharge formalities. Sudipa later clarified that the immense stress and lack of sleep over the past few days had caused her blood pressure to spike, leading to the collapse. Although bystanders suggested immediate admission, she recovered after primary aid and successfully brought Agnidev home.
Agnidev remains weak and under strict medical supervision at home to prevent infections. This health scare comes amidst a series of tragic losses in Tollywood, including the recent demise of actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee and Dipali Chakraborty, leaving the fraternity deeply concerned.
