In a major escalation of hostile rhetoric, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a chilling warning to India, specifically naming Kolkata as a potential target.
Speaking to reporters in Sialkot on Saturday, Asif asserted that any attempt by India to conduct a “false flag operation” would meet a response that would reach as far as the eastern metropolis of Kolkata.
Asif alleged that India is planning to stage a self-inflicted terror attack using its own operatives or detained Pakistanis to justify military action against Islamabad. “If India tries any misadventure this time, by the grace of God, we will take the conflict to Kolkata,” he warned. This provocative statement comes as a reaction to Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s recent stern warning of “unprecedented and decisive action” against hostile neighbors. While India maintains a high state of vigilance, Asif's remarks have intensified the ongoing war of words between the two nuclear-armed nations, causing significant concern in regional diplomatic circles.
