TMC’s internal factionalism reached a violent peak in Haroa on Tuesday evening during an election campaign for candidate Md. Mufti Abdul Matin.
What started as a verbal spat between two rival groups of the ruling party quickly escalated into a full-blown street fight.
Weapons and Viral Footage: A viral video from the spot shows party workers hurling chairs at each other. Disturbingly, an individual was spotted brandishing a sharp weapon amidst the chaos. While the candidate remained unavailable for comment, the opposition BJP wasted no time in mocking the “culture of violence” within the Trinamool Congress.
Recurring Pattern: This isn’t an isolated incident. Recently, in Birbhum's Murarai, a similar clash broke out in the presence of MP Satabdi Roy over grievances against the local candidate. Despite stern warnings from Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee regarding party discipline, these recurring internal conflicts continue to haunt the party's campaign trail as the state heads toward crucial polling phases.
