In a decisive move to support the unemployed youth of West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has issued a stern directive regarding the ‘Yuba Sathi Prakalpa’.

Taking a tough stance against administrative delays, the Chief Minister has mandated that the financial assistance under this scheme must be credited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts without any further hold-up. She has reportedly set a specific timeline, ensuring that every eligible candidate receives their due on time.

During a recent administrative review meeting at Nabanna, the Chief Minister expressed her dissatisfaction over the pending payments. She emphasized that the ‘Yuba Sathi’ scheme is a cornerstone of the state’s initiative to empower the youth and help them pursue vocational training. Any hurdle in the disbursement process, she noted, directly impacts the career prospects of the state’s younger generation.

The Yuba Sathi scheme provides a monthly stipend to candidates registered with the state’s Employment Bank. This financial aid is intended to cover costs related to skill development and competitive exam preparations. Due to technical glitches in the portal and slow verification cycles at the district level, many applicants had been waiting for months. With the Chief Minister's latest intervention, the Labour and Employment Department has been put on high alert to clear all backlogs immediately.

According to sources, the funds are now being processed through an accelerated Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. District magistrates have been instructed to monitor the daily progress of these payments. This proactive step by the state government is being hailed as a major relief for thousands of job seekers who rely on this stipend for their educational and professional advancement. The move is expected to clear all pending dues within a record time, bringing smiles back to the faces of Bengal's youth.
