Elder care startup Age Care Labs raises $9 Mn from Rainmatter and others

At-home elder care startup Age Care Labs has raised Rs 85 crore (around $9 million) from Zerodha-backed Rainmatter, Pegasus Finvest, the Shrem Group, and several family offices.

The investment is part of a larger Rs 250 crore (around $30 million) round that the company plans to complete in the coming months.

Entrackr had exclusively reported in August last year that the Gurugram-based company was raising the first tranche of its Series B round. Prior to the latest investment, Age Care Labs had raised more than $20 million, including an $11 million pre-Series B round in 2023 led by Rainmatter Capital and Gruhas.

The fresh capital will be used to strengthen operations, expand service offerings, invest in technology, and support the company's next phase of growth across the country, Age Care Labs said in a press release.

Age Care Labs provides integrated elder care services through two brands: Emoha, an at-home and app-based elder care platform, and Epoch Elder Care, which operates assisted living and dementia care homes.

Epoch follows an asset-light model by leasing properties and partnering with operators, while the company is expanding through franchise partnerships, institutional collaborations, and acquisitions. Together, the two brands serve more than 60,000 seniors across 120 cities.

Emoha offers services including 24x7 emergency response, health monitoring, telemedicine, and wellness programmes for seniors living at home.

According to the company, its asset-light model enables it to expand across tier I and tier II cities while addressing gaps in India's fragmented at-home and clinical elder care ecosystem.
