Audio entertainment platform Pocket FM is seeing a key leadership change as its Chief Financial Officer, Anurag Sharma, is set to move on from the company, according to sources aware of the matter.

Sharma is currently serving his notice period, said a person familiar with the matter, requesting anonymity.

Pocket FM also confirmed the development to Entrackr and said Sharma is leaving to explore entrepreneurial opportunities.

"Anurag Sharma has decided to move on from Pocket FM. He has been an important part of the company's journey and has made meaningful contributions over the years. We thank him for his partnership and leadership during his time here, and wish him the very best as he explores entrepreneurial opportunities ahead," a company spokesperson said.

Sharma was elevated as CFO in July 2023 after serving as Vice President-Finance at the company. In his role, he oversaw finance operations, fundraising, and strategic partnerships.

Before joining Pocket FM, Sharma worked with startups such as Ninjacart and had earlier stints at consulting firms including EY and PwC.

The development comes a few months after Pocket FM laid off more than 100 employees as part of a restructuring exercise to cut costs and improve efficiency, as first reported by Entrackr. Sources had also indicated that more layoffs could follow as the company focuses on profitability and streamlining operations. However, the company said it is not undertaking any company-wide layoffs.
