Friale Fund IV LLC, an early investor in stockbroking platform Groww, has sold a portion of its stake in the company through a block deal worth around Rs 210 crore.

According to stock exchange data, Friale Fund IV offloaded 1.13 crore shares of Groww's parent entity, Billionbrains Garage Ventures, at a price of Rs 185.50 per share. The transaction was valued at approximately Rs 210.4 crore.

The buyer in the transaction was Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE, which acquired the entire stake sold by the investor. The deal was executed at a discount of around 2.4% compared to the previous closing price of the stock.

The latest transaction comes amid a series of stake sales by Groww's early backers following the expiry of the six-month post-listing lock-in period. Last month, several prominent investors, including Peak XV Partners, Ribbit Capital, and Y Combinator, collectively sold shares worth more than Rs 5,352 crore through block deals.

Founded in 2016 by Lalit Keshre, Harsh Jain, Neeraj Singh and Ishan Bansal, Groww started as a mutual fund investment platform and later expanded into stock broking and wealth management products.

According to its Q4 FY26 shareholder letter and financial results, the Bengaluru-based firm posted a total revenue of Rs 1,535.5 crore in the March quarter, up from Rs 849.5 crore in the same period last year. The company also reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 686 crore in Q4 FY26

According to NSE data, the company had around 1.3 crore active users in April 2026 with over 28.48% market share, making it the largest stock broking platform in the country by active clients.

The Bengaluru-based company competes with firms such as Zerodha, Angel One and Upstox.
