Laani, a personal care brand, has raised Rs 9.1 crore ($970K) in a pre-seed funding round led by V3 Ventures and Saama Capital.
The round also saw participation from Arjun Purkayastha (Reckitt), Manish Taneja (Purplle), Kunal Bahl (Snapdeal), and Aneesh Sheth (Dr. Sheth's Skincare), among others.
Founded by Nirja Bhatt in 2024, Laani focuses on building body and personal care products tailored for Indian consumers. The firm identified a gap in the segment through research involving over 500 women across digital communities.
The brand has launched with a Clear Deodorant Stick, an alternative to traditional roll-ons and aerosols. The product is designed to deliver odour control for up to 24 hours without residue or staining.
The proceeds will be used for brand building, research and development, and expansion of its product portfolio into additional personal care categories.
The startup plans to develop products suited to Indian weather conditions and evolving consumer preferences, with a focus on new formats and formulations.
