UN:BLOC onboards Yuvraj Singh as investor and founding team member

Entrackr 2 weeks ago

Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has joined UN:BLOC, the new healthcare venture from serial entrepreneur Deepak Sahni, as an investor and a member of its founding team.

It marks the second time the two have built a company together.

Yuvraj was among the earliest backers of Sahni's previous company, Healthians, which went on to become one of India's largest at-home diagnostics networks.

UN:BLOC is currently operating in stealth mode, with its business model and product yet to be unveiled. The startup is in early discussions with a select group of people close to Sahni from healthcare, business, and other sectors, some of whom are expected to participate in its pre launch funding round in the coming weeks.

Led by Deepak Sahni and headquartered in Gurugram, UN:BLOC is currently in its pre launch phase. According to the company, it aims to address longstanding challenges in healthcare by focusing on areas that have received relatively less attention.

Over the past decade, Indian cricketers have increasingly evolved from brand ambassadors to startup investors. More than 20 current and former Indian cricketers have invested in startups across sectors including fintech, healthtech, D2C brands, fitness, gaming, EVs, sports technology, and consumer products.

Virat Kohli has built one of the largest startup investment portfolios among Indian athletes, while Yuvraj Singh has made investments through YouWeCan Ventures. More recently, cricketers including MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya have invested in gaming startup LightFury Games.
