Honda has rolled out the 2026 CBR150R in Malaysia with a fresh update, giving the entry-level supersport a new Stealth Black colour option.
The latest version leans more towards a minimal, darker aesthetic, replacing the brighter dual-tone shades seen earlier. While the motorcycle continues to stay away from the Indian market, its steady evolution overseas underlines Honda's focus on Southeast Asia, where demand for fully-faired 150cc bikes remains strong.
Back home, the segment continues to be dominated by models like the Yamaha R15, making the absence of the CBR150R even more noticeable. The latest update only adds to the speculation around whether Honda will eventually reintroduce the bike in India.
Stealth Black Update
For 2026, the changes are largely visual. The new Stealth Black paint scheme gives the bike a sharper and more premium road presence, but there are no mechanical or feature additions. The overall design stays intact, including the aggressive fairing, muscular fuel tank, and twin LED headlamp setup that lends it a big-bike appeal.
Honda has retained the same sporty yet practical ergonomics. The clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs offer an engaging riding posture without making it uncomfortable for daily use. This balance has played a key role in the bike's popularity across Southeast Asian markets.
Engine and Hardware Remain Unchanged
The CBR150R continues to draw power from a 149.2cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It delivers 16.1 hp at 9,000 rpm and 13.7 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox and comes equipped with an assist and slipper clutch, which helps in smoother gear shifts and better control during aggressive downshifting.
In terms of hardware, the bike features upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS.
Feature highlights include full LED lighting, a fully digital LCD instrument console, and an emergency stop signal system that activates hazard lights during sudden braking. With a kerb weight of around 139 kg, the bike remains relatively light for a fully-faired offering.
Price
In Malaysia, the 2026 Honda CBR150R Stealth Black is priced at RM 13399, which roughly converts to about Rs 3.14 lakh before taxes. This puts it at a premium compared to most 150cc motorcycles currently available in India.
