Alpha has been through December 2025. Then April 2026. Now July 10, 2026 is the date on the calendar and fans are choosing to believe it this time around.
YRF made the announcement with a partial glimpse of Alia Bhatt and confirmed the full cast alongside it, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol.
The comment sections filled up within minutes. People who have been waiting through two delays were not subtle about their feelings. Omggg finallyyy. Let's roar queen. Alpha girls we're so ready. That kind of energy.
Why it kept getting pushed
The first delay came in November 2025 when YRF put out a statement explaining that the VFX work was taking longer than expected. The spokesperson was straightforward about it, they wanted the film to look the way it deserved to look on a big screen and were not willing to rush that process. So December became April.
Then April became July. No detailed explanation this time. Just a new date and a new poster and the hope that the third time is the charm.
What Alia has said about it
At the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah last year, Alia spoke about Alpha in a way that was refreshingly honest. She acknowledged directly that a female-led action film from YRF carries a different kind of risk than the male-led ones on which the franchise is built. History has not always been kind to women carrying action films on their shoulders in Bollywood. She said it plainly and did not dress it up.
That kind of self-awareness about what she is walking into makes the project feel more considered than a simple franchise addition.
What Alpha actually is
This is not a standalone film. Alpha sits within YRF's spy universe, the same world that has given audiences Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, Tiger 3, Pathaan, and the War films. It is the first time that the universe is being led entirely by a woman. Alia Bhatt and Sharvari together at the centre of a YRF action franchise is genuinely new territory for Hindi cinema.
Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in the mix add weight to both sides. Deol has had a remarkable resurgence in recent years, and Kapoor, at this point, is practically ageless on screen.
July 10, it is then
Two delays. One film. A whole lot of patience from fans who have been ready since December. July 10 is the date. The VFX apparently has had enough time. Now the only thing left is whether Alpha delivers what the wait promised.
