Amazon Great Summer Sale 2026 Starts May 8: Amazon today kicked off its Great Summer Sale 2026. This sale is dubbed to be the company's biggest mid-year shopping events ahead of Prime Day and the festive season later this year.

The event has brought deep discounts across a wide range of curated AI products across categories, including smartphones, cooling appliances, fashion, skincare and travel products, among others.

Great Summer Sale date and access

The Great Summer Sale started today. Amazon is offering early access to Prime subscribers, allowing them to shop deals ahead of other users.

New launches and deals

Customers can look forward to new launches and deals, along with latest products from popular brands such as Samsung, Apple, OnePlus, Dell, Haier, Nike, Mokobara, Tokyo Talkies, COSRX, LEGO, among others.

Besides, customers will also get a range of affordability options during the sale, including no-cost EMI on select credit and debit cards, instant bank discounts, exchange offers, and Amazon Pay benefits.

With Rufus, customers can get personalised recommendations through natural prompts like 'suggest summer vacation outfits under Rs 5000' or 'show me energy efficient ACs', while 'Lens AI' lets users instantly find products by simply snapping a photo online or offline.

Interactive sections

Amazon has announced interactive sections like spin-and-win contests and quizzes, where users can win rewards, including gadgets and shopping vouchers. The platform will also feature "Lightning Deals" and "Top 100 deals" across categories.

The company has also highlighted faster checkout features and secure payment options to streamline purchases during the sale.

Amazon bets big on India

Amazon India is planning to invest over Rs 2,800 crore to strengthen associate safety, health, and financial well-being measures and to boost its operations network across the country, PTI reported last month.

The investment is part of the company's stated commitment to infuse more than USD 35 billion in India by 2030, focusing on business expansion and other measures such as AI-driven digitisation, export growth, and job creation.

Amazon will expand both its core and quick commerce footprint to continue serving customers across India in minutes, hours, and days, the company said in a statement announcing plans to invest over Rs 2,800 crore (USD 300 million).

Amazon said it will expand associate wellbeing programmes, including further investment in Project Ashray, enhance medical and accident insurance, and enable access to government social security benefits for tens of thousands of associates and over 200,000 community members.

"This investment builds on the company's Rs 2,000 crore investment in 2025, which enabled the launch of 17 new fulfilment centres, six sortation centres, and 75 last-mile delivery stations across India," Amazon said.

In 2025, Amazon also launched its quick commerce offering, Amazon Now, and has since scaled it to over 300 micro-fulfilment centres across key cities to enable safer, faster deliveries.

"Since launching Amazon.in in 2013, we have built one of India's safest, fastest, and most reliable operations networks, serving customers across every serviceable pin code in the country. At the heart of this network are our people, and we remain committed to raising the bar on associate safety, health, and financial well-being," Abhinav Singh, Vice President - Operations, Amazon India and Australia, said.

Singh said the investment of over Rs 2,800 crore will further strengthen the company's efforts, while continuing the momentum on scaling operations network and advancing technology prowess to enable faster, safer, and more reliable deliveries for customers.
