Amitabh Bachchan has quietly added another chapter to his growing real estate story in Ayodhya. The veteran actor has purchased a 2.67-acre land parcel worth around Rs 35 crore, strengthening his investment presence in the temple city that has witnessed rapid infrastructure and tourism growth in recent years.
According to a statement released by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), the newly acquired land is located close to the developer's ambitious 75-acre project called 'The Sarayu'. The transaction reflects Bachchan's continued confidence in Ayodhya's long-term value as the city evolves into a major spiritual and economic hub after the construction of the Ram Mandir.
Sources familiar with the transaction revealed that the actor was unable to personally attend the final settlement. The formalities were completed on his behalf by Rajesh Yadav, who manages several of Bachchan's business interests. The purchase marks yet another strategic addition to the superstar's carefully built property portfolio, which spans several cities in India and abroad.
Why developers see Ayodhya land as a long-term asset
Speaking about the deal, Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman of The House of Abhinandan Lodha, emphasised the significance of land ownership in a city like Ayodhya. He said the investment represents a shared belief in land as a multi-generational asset that holds value over time. "Bachchan's investment reflects a shared belief in land as an intergenerational asset that preserves value over the long term," Lodha said.
He added that land ownership in Ayodhya carries a deeper meaning beyond financial value. "At HoABL, we view land not merely as wealth but as a legacy. In Ayodhya, this legacy assumes a profound meaning, a 'virasat' where faith and inheritance come together. Supported by sustained infrastructure development and public investment, Ayodhya is emerging as a compelling destination for long-term land ownership and enduring value creation."
Amitabh Bachchan: Third property purchase in Ayodhya
The new acquisition is not Bachchan's first in the holy city. In fact, it marks his third property investment in Ayodhya and his fourth plotted development purchase with HoABL.
Here's how his Ayodhya investments have unfolded:
- 2024: Purchased a 10,000 sq ft plot in HoABL's luxury development The Sarayu for about Rs 14.5 crore.
- 2025: Acquired another 25,000 sq ft plot near The Sarayu project for roughly Rs 40 crore.
- 2026: Bought a 2.67-acre land parcel worth Rs 35 crore, expanding his footprint further in the region.
The steady investments underline the actor's long-term view of Ayodhya as a future real-estate hotspot.

Amitabh BachchanInvestments beyond Ayodhya
Bachchan's real-estate activity is not limited to the temple city. He has also invested in another HoABL project in Maharashtra.
