Gold Rate Today (April 3, 2026): Gold prices dropped during the latest trading session as the precious metals market has been facing pressure after a rise in the US dollar and increasing expectations of higher interest rates.
The oil prices also increased after comments from the U.S. President about continued military action in Iran. These developments raised inflation concerns and changed expectations about interest rate cuts.
Gold rates remained flat in the national capital Delhi on Friday amid muted demand from jewellers and retailers, according to the All India Sarafa Association. The gold of 99.9 per cent purity stayed flat at Rs 1,51,500 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes).
According to the All India Bullion Association, the price of 24-carat gold in Delhi has dropped by Rs 3,500, settling at Rs 1,51,500 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes).
In the domestic market, on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures also registered a marginal decline, falling by Rs 30 to stand at Rs 1,49,650 per 10 grams. Previously, it had closed at Rs 1,49,680 per 10 grams.
Gold Rate Today: Why the yellow metal price is falling
Traders said domestic prices moved in a narrow range due to a lack of fresh cues from global markets, which were closed on account of Good Friday. Subdued demand from local jewellers and retailers also kept prices unchanged, they added.
Market participants are now awaiting the reopening of overseas markets for further direction in bullion prices.
Gold's Trend
Gold prices are likely to remain highly volatile in the short term, with positive developments triggering sharp upward moves and negative news leading to equally steep declines. This pattern is expected to persist for some time, said Amit Goyal, Chief Global Strategist and Co-founder of Pace 360.
