Sai Sudharsan, who had secured the Orange Cap in the IPL 2025, started the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League on a quiet note. However, the left-hander picked Royal Challengers Bengaluru as the opposition to pick up from and notched a brilliant hundred for Gujarat Titans at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday.
Sudharsan's 58-ball 100 pushed GT to the score of 205/3 in 20 overs.
During the innings, Sudharsan completed 2000 runs in the IPL and became the fastest to get there. He displaced Chris Gayle, who breached the mark in 48 innings. Sudharsan went past the total in 47 innings.

Sai Sudharsan made his IPL debut for the Gujarat Titans in 2022 and has been exceptional for the franchise since the beginning. He made 145 runs in the 5 matches he played in the maiden season for GT. He then scored 362 runs in his second season and broke into the 500 club in 2024, when he finished with 527 runs. He emerged as the top run-getter in the IPL 2025 as he concluded the season with 759 runs. Sudharsan's graph has moved only upwards till now, and since he has gained momentum with the century against RCB, the GT opener may amass in excess of 500 again.
