The results came out after the polling restrictions were lifted. Under Election Commission guidelines, exit polls cannot be published until 30 minutes after polling ends in the final phase of elections. For the current cycle, projections were published after 6.30 pm today.

Polling was held across Tamil Nadu on April 23 for all 234 Assembly seats, with over 4,000 candidates in the fray. The state recorded a voter turnout of 84.6 per cent, the highest since the 1952 elections. The total electorate stood at around 5.73 crore, including over 2.93 crore women and 2.83 crore men. Third-gender voters accounted for about 7,728.
