Tata Steel Q4 FY26 business update: Tata Steel, on Tuesday, said that it has reported its 'best-ever annual' crude steel production of 23.48 million tons in India in FY26. With this, production was up 8 per cent YoY (year-on-year), from the previous fiscal, primarily aided by the Kalinganagar ramp-up, partly offset by the shutdown of the 'G' blast furnace for relining at Jamshedpur.
In the fourth quarter of FY26, crude steel production rose by 15 per cent YoY to 6.25 million tonnes from 5.44 MT reported in the year-ago period, according to the provisional figures of Tata Steel.
India deliveries increased in line with production, leading to 'best-ever annual' volumes of 22.53 million tons, the Tata Group's steel arm said in an exchange filing.
"Domestic deliveries crossed 20 million tons for the first time, highlighting our strong market positioning and enduring
customer relationships. In 4QFY26, deliveries were up 10% YoY and registered 'best-ever quarterly' volumes," Tata Steel said in the regulatory filing.
Tata Steel Q4 FY26 business update: Key highlights of domestic deliveries for FY2026:
- 'Automotive & Special Products' vertical achieved 'best-ever annual' volumes of approximately 3.4 million tons and record quarterly volumes close to 1 million tons in Q4 FY26. The ramp-up of new downstream capacities enhanced performance and enabled the shift toward high-end products, which were up 11 per cent YoY.
- 'Branded Products & Retail' vertical achieved 'best-ever annual' volumes of approximately 7.3 million tons, driven by the performance of well-established brands. Tata Tiscon achieved 'best-ever annual' volumes of ~2.4 million tons while Tata Steelium, cold rolled brand, achieved a strong growth of 28 per cent YoY.
- 'Industrial Products & Projects' vertical achieved volumes of ~7.2 million tons, aided by the performance of value accretive segments. The engineering segment recorded 'best-ever annual' volumes driven by customer acquisitions, enhanced serviceability and increased presence in discerning segments such as defence and shipbuilding.
- Our downstream footprint achieved 'best-ever annual' volumes across the verticals. Tubes, Tinplate and Colours Business units achieved double-digit YoY growth, while Wires surpassed the previous best of FY2025.
- Gross Merchandise Value from our e-commerce platforms, Tata Steel Aashiyana and DigECA, was Rs 9,360 crore for the year, up 161 per cent on a YoY basis.
Tata Steel Netherlands' liquid steel production in FY26 was around 6.7 million tons, and deliveries were approximately 6.1 million tons. In the fourth quarter of FY26, deliveries rose 21 per cent QoQ to 1.7 million tons.
"Tata Steel UK is serving its customers via the downstream processing of purchased substrate. Deliveries for the year were 2.2 million tons, lower on a YoY basis due to subdued market dynamics. Work is progressing with respect to the setup of ~3 MTPA Electric Arc Furnace at Port Talbot," the company stated.
Tata Steel Thailand's saleable steel production in FY2026 was 1.33 million tons, and deliveries were 1.32 million tons. Deliveries improved by 11 per cent YoY, primarily driven by strong domestic rebar sales.
