Actors Vijay Varma and Kritika Kamra are soon set to appear in *Matka King*. Recently, while discussing the series, Kritika Kamra revealed how she had to audition twice for her Parsi role.
She also spoke candidly about the series in general. Read on to find out what she had to say.
**He Wasn't Convinced the First Time Around**
In a conversation with the *Hindustan Times*, while discussing *Matka King*, Kritika Kamra stated, "There are certain filmmakers I wait for-such as Nagraj Manjule. I auditioned for this show twice."
"He wasn't convinced the first time around, and I completely understand that. If I were asked to play a Parsi character, perhaps even I wouldn't have been convinced by my own performance on the first attempt. Everyone wants the absolute best actor to be cast for a specific role. Therefore, I worked on it and auditioned again."
**Commercial Projects Don't Often Come My Way**
Kritika further noted that this approach might make her appear somewhat selective. She remarked, "It gets a bit tricky because I have to wait for directors who follow a thorough and comprehensive process during casting."
"Consequently, more commercial projects often don't come my way. However, I am happy because I am getting the opportunity to work with filmmakers whose filmographies I admire."
**What the Actress Said About the Series**
The actress also spoke about the world of *Matka*. She said, "This world is fascinating. Before receiving the offer for this show, I didn't have much knowledge about *Matka*. I conducted research for it. I didn't grow up in Bombay, so I wasn't familiar with it, but I found it to be quite intriguing."
**When Will the Series Be Released?**
She added, "I usually evaluate projects based on whether or not I, as an audience member, would find them interesting." "If I feel strongly about something, I am confident that others will take an interest in it as well." Notably, 'Matka King' is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on April 17. Vijay Varma will be seen in the lead role in this show.
