In Hinduism, Laddu Gopal is cherished and cared for as a member of the family. Just as we adjust our diet and attire to cope with rising temperatures, the rituals for serving Bal Gopal also change according to the season.
Consequently, as the summer heat intensifies, certain adjustments must be made to the service offered to Kanha, as devotees believe that He, too, experiences the heat. If you wish to invite peace and harmony into your home-along with Kanha's special blessings-you must strictly adhere to these specific guidelines for serving Him during the scorching summer months.

**Morning Bath and Adornment**
During the summer, the very first step after waking Laddu Gopal is to bathe Him in cool water. It is considered highly auspicious to add *Gangajal* (holy water from the Ganges), perfume, and fresh rose petals to the bathwater. On hot days, dress Him in light cotton garments rather than heavy *zari* or silk fabrics. For His adornment, opt for floral jewelry instead of heavy ornaments, and apply a cooling paste of sandalwood (*chandan*) to His forehead. Kanha Ji is greatly pleased by the cooling sensation of sandalwood.
**Cool Offerings (*Bhog*) and Diet**
In the summer, pay special attention to ensuring that Laddu Gopal's *Bhog* (food offering) is both *sattvic* (pure) and cooling. Offer Him fresh fruit juices, *Pana* (traditional summer drinks), buttermilk, yogurt, and a mixture of rock sugar (*mishri*) and butter (*makhan*). Remember to ensure that the offering is not served hot. Always keep cool water available for Kanha to drink in a small earthen pot, and be sure to add a *Tulsi* (holy basil) leaf to it. Offering a cucumber is also considered highly beneficial during this season.
**Afternoon Care**
Just as small children take an afternoon nap, allow Kanha to rest during the day as well. Keep a handheld fan nearby for Him. At night, when putting Him to bed, use soft cotton bedding instead of heavy blankets. Dress Him in a single light garment for the night-without any heavy jewelry or adornments-to ensure He enjoys a sound and comfortable sleep.
**Mistakes to Strictly Avoid**
Never, under any circumstances, use excessively hot water for His bath. During the summer, avoid adorning Kanha with heavy crowns or jewelry that might cause discomfort.
Never keep Bal Gopal in a dark or enclosed room.
Food spoils quickly in the heat; therefore, always offer Him only freshly prepared *Bhog*.
