There are numerous reasons why young children go wild whenever they have a chance to catch Caitlin Clark play basketball or just attend an event.
The Indiana Fever superstar's on-court logo bombs and passes aside, her swagger has also become a fan favorite. There are children now wanting to attempt threes from beyond the perimeter.
Those children are also surprised by how humble and jovial she is, whether it is around her teammates or even amongst fans. That down-to-earth nature is what has led her to draw more fans than the WNBA has ever seen.
The down-to-earth nature may be what gives Clark her superstar image, but it is her trash talk and taunts that have helped her become a household name.
Some may not appreciate that and have started narratives questioning how she behaves. But when young fans interact with the 24-year-old, it seems they are just not bothered by what adults say.
As the players headed into practice, the organization asked Caitlin Clark and Myisha Hines-Allen to stay behind for some photos with fans.
One of them just ran straight towards the point guard and hugged her left leg. The young fan just continued to do that, even though her grandmother was the one talking to Clark and MHA.
Then, as they all posed for photos, the little girl gave the widest smile, even though her arms were still wrapped around the superstar's thigh.
After the photos, Caitlin Clark raised her hand as if to give the little girl a high-five. Once her grandmother asked her to do so, she jumped up to reach the point guard.
Fans seeing this on social media had their hearts melt. They knew that the Iowa native was great with children. Many pro athletes are also great with the young generation.
But not many are fine with one of them hugging their leg while taking photos. Fans felt that this was just another example of how great Clark is as a person. Check out examples of those reactions below.
Throughout this entire process, Myisha Hines-Allen stood with a smile, trying to grasp how easy the young fan felt around her new teammate. Everyone has heard the stories, but it seems the 31-year-old was in awe seeing a situation play out live.
Some of the fans in the comments also mentioned how Caitlin Clark's interaction with the young fan was enough proof that her demeanor is generally that of a humble person.
But when she is on the court, she is as competitive as anyone can be. After her heated altercation with head coach Stephanie White became headlines, many criticized her. One of them, Cheryl Miller, has now changed her opinion.
The amount of pressure that is on this young lady… Living up to what everyone expects her to be and do can be overwhelming. So imma give her some grace. And she's right about one thing, I've been in situations like that before. I can understand where she's coming from.
Cheryl Miller said on NBCThe Hall of Famer was speaking after the two-time All-Star mentioned that such altercations were normal and that she has a great relationship with her head coach. Miller agrees that this incident blew up only because the cameras are constantly on her.
