Everyone thought Beck would announce for the draft. The pre-mock drafts projected him as a late second or an early third selection. However, they weren't aware that he would drop a bomb on them. After a few weeks of speculation, he opted to forgo the draft and entered the transfer portal.

The Miami Hurricanes pounced on the chance. Miami offered Carson Beck a $4.3 million NIL (name, image, and likeness) deal. As per On3.com, Beck ranks third in terms of NIL valuation among college athletes.
NIL has been all over the news because of Nico Iamaleava. The young quarterback left the Tennessee Volunteers after his demand for a $4 million NIL valuation was rejected by the school. Iamaleava transferred to UCLA and soon will be joined by his brother, Madden Iamaleava.
NIL was also one of the talking points in a recent segment of The Pivot podcast. Hosts Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder invited former Las Vegas Raiders and current Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin to talk about the slowly changing college scenario.
Crowder brought up Beck's NIL valuation. The number shocked Kiffin, but at the same time, he managed to make a snarky comeback.
