The 2024 Paris Olympics is edging nearer and nearer. The city of Paris is gearing up to host one of the biggest sporting affairs of the year.

This year, the world's best wrestlers in both men's and women's weight classes and styles will compete in a full week of fierce competition.

The inaugural Opening Ceremony of the Games is set for a grand showing on July 26. Matter of fact, it follows in the backdrop of the center node of the city, along the river Seine instead of a stadium. The 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony itself is to make history this Friday. As the first-ever outdoor event, it will see more than 10,000 athletes, dignitaries, and thousands of performers flock to the cause. The opening ceremony will start at 1:30 p.m. EDT, with thousands following on custom floats.

Tennis star Coco Gauff will fly the U.S. flag at the Paris Olympics alongside LeBron James as the starter. But that's not where the buck ends. Wrestling at the 2024 Paris Olympics (on USA Network, and streaming on Peacock/NBC platforms) starts on August 5. All wrestling medal events take form at the Champ de Mars Arena. These include Men's freestyle ( — 57 to — 125 kg) and Women's freestyle ( — 50 to — 76 kg). It also includes Greco-Roman wrestling ( — 60 to — 130 kg).

There are 18 weight classes - six each in freestyle, Greco-Roman, and also women's. The Champ-de-Mars Arena in Paris will host accordingly. Women's wrestling will consequently be in action each day. With 18 gold medals on the line, the men will wrestle against each other in both freestyle and Greco-Roman events. Whereas the women will only participate in freestyle wrestling

There are 16 wrestlers in each bracket. The competition consists of a single elimination tournament with a repeating round used to determine two bronze medalists. The two finalists wrestle for gold and silver. Any wrestler who loses to one of the two finalists will advance to the repechage. Accordingly culminated in a pair of bronze medal matches featuring the semifinal losers. Each of whom will face the remaining repechage opponent from their half of the bracket.
