Two times NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano is one of the best drivers of generation and one of the all-time greatest. Hall of Famer Mark Martin played a major role in the star driver growth, and played a role of mentor in the young Logano's life, which the Team Penske Racing driver still cherishes.
Mark Martin recently appeared in the in the Dale Jr. Reloaded podcast and shared his verdict on the controversial finish to Richmond Cup race and post-race drama involving Joey Logano. The ex-champion was wrecked for the win by Austin Dillon and to show his frustration, Logano did burnout on the crowded pit-stop before the No:3 crew, causing safety risk.
This made NASCAR to fine his a whopping $50,000 and Martin aggress with the severity of it. He admitted that Logano should have known better before making the decision to do a burn out in the pit-road. Martin pointed out that the excessive penalty will deter any driver from doing the same in the future.
