John Cena is embracing retirement life while focusing on helping and supporting the next generation of professional wrestling talent. In his mission to contribute to the future of the industry, Cena recently made a special appearance at the Black & Brave Wrestling Academy in Davenport, Iowa, where he spent several hours working with aspiring wrestlers.
The Black & Brave Wrestling Academy is co-run by Seth Rollins and serves as a platform for young talents hoping to build a career in professional wrestling. Rollins has long been passionate about mentoring the next generation and providing aspiring performers with the tools and opportunities needed to succeed in the business.
In an official post shared by the academy, Black & Brave thanked the 17-time World Champion for taking part in a special guest coaching session and sharing his knowledge and experience with the young wrestlers in attendance.
During the five-hour coaching session, John Cena spent his time teaching, mentoring, and interacting with the wrestlers through an extensive Q&A session. The WWE legend even stayed an additional hour to provide one-on-one guidance to several graduates from the academy, further showcasing his commitment to helping the next generation grow.
Black & Brave Wrestling Academy has grown into one of the most respected wrestling schools in the country and has been shaping aspiring talent for more than 12 years. Dedicated to developing the next generation of stars, the academy has built a strong reputation within the wrestling industry, and Cena's recent appearance has only added to its prestige and popularity.
Cena has repeatedly demonstrated his desire to support young talent and give back to the business that made him a global icon. Since stepping away from full-time competition, the 17-time World Champion has made several appearances at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, where he has spent time mentoring and guiding future stars.
The WWE legend also made a special appearance at Bayley's training camp, further highlighting his passion for professional wrestling and his commitment to helping the next generation succeed.
During his appearance at WWE Backlash, John Cena officially announced the launch of the John Cena Classic and also opened up about how the idea for the tournament came together. According to the 17-time World Champion, the concept took nearly four to five months to develop before he finally pitched it to Triple H and WWE President Nick Khan.
Cena explained that the inspiration behind the tournament came from the overwhelmingly positive response to Saturday Night's Main Event, where he faced Gunther. Seeing the excitement surrounding the crossover between established main roster stars and rising NXT talent convinced Cena that the idea had major potential for WWE's future.
Although Cena remains highly optimistic about the project, the initial reaction from parts of the WWE Universe has been mixed. Still, the WWE legend described it as a 'bold creative decision' and firmly believes it can become an important part of the company moving forward.
Comparing it to his shocking heel turn, Cena stated that fans may not immediately embrace the concept, but over time it could evolve into something significant for the future of WWE.
Just as fans got the opportunity to witness emerging stars like Je'Von Evans and Oba Femi during last December's Saturday Night's Main Event, Cena assured the WWE Universe that the John Cena Classic will continue introducing several promising NXT talents by placing them in high-profile matches against main roster superstars.
