For weeks at length, the narrative in the league surrounding Jimmy Butler was him potentially moving to the Phoenix Suns. Joining Kevin Durant and Devin Booker was his first choice among a list of teams he wanted to move to.
That meant, Bradley Beal had to waive his no-trade clause, which he would only agree to if he liked the destination he was heading to. This was a blow to the Phoenix Suns as their choices narrowed, who felt that they could take the next step with Butler.
Then came the blockbuster news that Jimmy Butler was headed to the Golden State Warriors. However, up until a few hours before that trade, it was Kevin Durant who was rumored to move back to the team with whom he won two NBA titles.

As the Suns could not move Beal and Devin Booker was untouchable, the only option was to move Durant. That is when rumors ramped up that he could reunite with Steph Curry. But then Shams Charania provided this update while on NBA Today.
The Warriors have been seriously pursuing Kevin Durant over the last week. But sources tell me that Durant has no desire in a reunion with the Warriors. He does not want to go back.
Shams Charania saidThe ESPN Insider clarified that due to the disappointing season the Phoenix Suns have had so far, teams were calling to see if Kevin Durant was available. It seems he was, but just not for the Golden State Warriors. That put a lid on a potential deal which then forced the Warriors to complete a deal for Butler.
Fans lose their minds with Kevin Durant's decision
At the time, fans felt that Kevin Durant took this decision based on his previous experiences with Draymond Green. They feel he could have reunited with Steph Curry just like he did in the Olympics. Kevin Durant left the franchise partly because of his fallout with the former Defensive Player of the Year.
Even last season when Green's aggression during a game showed that everything was not right between them. Fans feel it is the Warriors forward who is responsible for this situation. Check out examples of those comments below.
