Tom Brady joked about the Dallas Cowboys, which Skip Bayless claims was a bad idea from the retired NFL quarterback. That's because Bayless believes Brady ended up on the bad side of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones .
Recently, Brady participated in Netflix's 'The Roast of Kevin Hart' and pulled no punches. He cracked jokes on several subject matters, including how obnoxious and delusional the Cowboys fans are every year.
It looks like we actually have some real Eagles fans here. Yeah. Not like Kevin, who only shows up with the big games when the Eagles are playing well. You know, Kev, we actually have a name for those people. They're called Cowboys fans.
Tom Brady saidBayless found Brady's joke an uncalled-for jibe at the Cowboys fans. Sure, Bayless, a staunch Cowboys supporter, admitted that the fanbase has a habit of chanting 'this is our year' before every season, but that doesn't warrant a swipe at them.
More importantly, the Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl or played in a conference title game for three decades, so it makes little sense to joke about the Cowboys.
However, now that the bullet has left the barrel, Bayless fears that Brady might get a phone call from the head honchos of FOX, with whom he signed a 10 year, $375 million deal in 2024. Bayless can say this because he worked for FOX for roughly eight years.
Now the question is, why would FOX be angry with Brady? What he does outside the confines of their premises is none of their business. But it will become their business if Jerry Jones decides to take action. And Bayless seems certain that the veteran general manager of the most profitable Sports Venture in the world will give the FOX front office a heads-up in the coming days.
Tom Brady is so brazen as the $300 million lead analyst for FOX Sports… You have to understand, the most valuable property for FOX Sports—I worked there for eight years and I know it from inside and out—is the Dallas Cowboys. FOX has the NFL package [and] they are going to televise a majority of the big Cowboys games on FOX… Just trust me on this, Jerry Jones did not love [Tom Brady's joke].
Bayless said in a recent segment of The Arena GridironDespite not missing the playoffs for two straight years, the Cowboys' Thanksgiving fixture against the Kansas City Chiefs became the most-watched regular-season game in NFL history. According to NFL.com, nearly 60.2 million viewers tuned in to watch the Cowboys edge out the AFC West franchise.
Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw 23 completions for 261 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Rashee Rice caught two TD passes, while Travis Kelce and Hollywood Brown shared one each.
As for the Cowboys, quarterback Dak Prescott completed 27 passes for 320 yards, 2 touchdowns, and one interception. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and running back Javonte Williams caught a TD each. RB2 Malik Davis scored a TD on the ground.
Dallas is set to face off against the Eagles on Thanksgiving 2026. The Eagles are 2-0 in this fixture.
The Cowboys' defense was predicted to take a step back after Jones traded All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. Dallas received Rashan Gary in the deal and later traded Quinnen Williams from the New York Jets.
Williams bagged a Pro Bowl nod at the end of the season, but he and Gary combined to accumulate just 9 sacks. Veteran Jadeveon Clowney led the Cowboys in sacks with 8.5, but he's a free agent.
Keeping that in mind, Matt Bowen of ESPN suggests that Jones should sign free agent pass rusher Haason Reddick.
Reddick had 2.5 sacks and 23 pressures for the Bucs last season. With 61.5 career sacks, he could draw interest from teams that like to scheme their pass rushers out of loaded fronts.
Bowen wrote in his reportThe Cowboys drafted UCF alum Malachi Lawrence, but he's a project player, and Jones wants to win now. If so, he should add an experienced player to the locker room.
