It looks like Dillon Brooks wants to keep his rivalry with LeBron James strictly on the NBA court. Both players are coming off impressive 2025-26 campaigns, but unfortunately, their seasons have come to an end.
However, both of them suffered the same fate in the postseason.
The Phoenix Suns, led by Brooks, surprised the NBA world when they made it to the playoffs this year. But their dream run ended against the Oklahoma City Thunder as they were beaten in four games in the first round. Meanwhile, James and the Los Angeles Lakers weren't able to do much better as they were clean-swept by the Thunder as well in the Western Conference Semifinals.
Streamer Rayasianboy was caught live-streaming with the Suns forward recently. During the stream, he asked Brooks if he attended Game 4 between the Thunder and Lakers to hate-watch James. Brooks replied:
No, I don't. It's right here, it's only an hour away. I went to see what OKC was gonna be on. It was kinda like our series. I don't really know him (LeBron James) like that.
Dillon Brooks on live streamWhen LeBron James and his team took on the defending champions in Game 4 on Monday night, the cameras captured Dillon Brooks sitting in the front row at the Crypto.com Arena. Many assumed that the Suns' star was present to troll James and watch him get eliminated. But Brooks denied any such intention and revealed that he was there just to watch how the Thunder would do.
It is no secret that Brooks often gets under the skin of James whenever they face each other. They have had multiple feuds on the court over the last few years. Former champion Kendrick Perkins has gone as far as to label their feud as one of the best one-on-one rivalries in sports. However, Brooks was in no mood to escalate anything between them on Monday as he just wanted to watch some good basketball.
LeBron James just completed his 23rd season in the NBA. It is an unprecedented number for any player in league history. While James led the Lakers to the Western Conference Semifinals this year, his contract with the club ends in the offseason. The four-time champion revealed that he hasn't made any decision yet, as his future remains up in the air.
Dillon Brooks spoke about James' future and believes that he will return for a 24th season.
I don't think it's his last year. I think he got one more in him. I watched him when I was in the NBA, when I was a kid in high school. He's got a phenomenal career and battled everybody and done it at a high level throughout. It's been amazing to watch overall, a pleasure to battle against him.
Dillon Brooks on Yahoo SportsJames may be tempted to explore free agency as he is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors are two teams that are interested in acquiring him, while a return to the Lakers is not out of the question.
Victor Wembanyama is just one win away from leading the San Antonio Spurs to their first Western Conference Finals in nine years. The Spurs center has already established himself as one of the best players in the league and has been close to unstoppable in his first-ever playoffs.
The Frenchman is one of the top-three candidates for league MVP this year. While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the heavy favorite to win it this year, Dillon Brooks believes that Wembanyama is just getting started.
Once Wemby gets his first MVP, you won't see anyone else get it. His numbers are gonna go up every year. He is insane.
