It looks like Tony Brothers is in the spotlight once again after officiating Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
It was an engrossing game from start to finish as both sides put on a show on Monday night.
Despite being 3-0 down and facing elimination, the Lakers came out to play and had their foot on the gas till the final quarter. The Thunder showed everyone why they are the favorites to go all the way, elevating their game in the fourth quarter.
While the Lakers stayed competitive for most of the game, they still fell 115-110 to the defending champions at the Crypto.com Arena on Monday night. The loss put an end to their 2025-26 campaign as they were swept 4-0 by the Thunder.
After the game, popular streamer Tylil confronted Brothers at the parking lot and pressed him about his officiating while leaving the arena. The unhappy Lakers fan said:
Tony, what the f—k was going on in there with the officiating? You know LeBron is a tyrant? Tony, you've been officiating for 25 plus years. You and your blood brother. All them foul calls. The brother is 41. You know how it is. National Bron Association, if the bro gets touched, it is a foul.

In Game 3 of the Spurs-Timberwolves series, he had a heated exchange with Wolves head coach Chris Finch. Brothers had to be pulled away by some of the Wolves players. The veteran referee has been in the NBA for 32 years now. He has had several altercations with players over the years.
While being confronted by Tylil, Brothers continued walking and just smiled as the streamer ranted about his officiating. There has been a lot of noise about the refereeing in the Lakers-Thunder series.
LeBron James has been at the receiving end of several poor calls and no calls. He was also seen fuming at the referees in Game 2. But the Lakers star did not have any heated moments with the officials in Game 4.
There weren't many complaints regarding the officiating in Game 4, as the Lakers had 27 free throws compared to the Thunder's 24. James had eight free throw attempts, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the game with 15.
Following Tylil's rant at Brothers, fans did not waste any time in reacting to the confrontation across social media.
While some fans backed Tylil for confronting the veteran official, some felt it was unnecessary to do so in the parking lot. In the end, the Thunder were a much superior team and elevated their game in crunch moments.
