Tiger Woods is back in Jupiter, Florida. Last week, the golfer returned to the United States after being in a rehab program in Zurich, Switzerland.
Reports now claim that the golfer has not given up on the sport following his car crash and DUI arrest.
The 15-time major champion found himself in trouble near the end of March. A few days after making his 2026 TGL debut for the Jupiter Links GC, he was preparing for the Masters Tournament.
On March 27, Woods was involved in a rollover crash near his residence in Jupiter, Florida. At around 2 p.m., his luxury SUV flipped sideways as he tried to swerve away and avoid a collision with a cleaner truck.
During the questioning by the police, he was 'sweating profusely' with his eyes 'glassy' and 'bloodshot' while his pupils were dilated. Two white pills, later identified as hydrocodone, were also found in his pocket.
He would have a negative result in an alcohol test. However, he refused to take part in a urinalysis, which led to him being arrested on charges of refusal to submit, property damage, and driving under the influence.
Woods was released on bail 8 hours later. A few days after this incident, he broke his silence through a message on social media.
In a post on X, the 50-year-old shared a message and expressed that he was taking a break from golf. He also claimed that he would be seeking treatment to get better.
After that, he flew to Zurich, Switzerland, and got himself into a rehab program. Last week, reports from TMZ expressed that his private jet had landed in Florida. He was later pictured walking in the airport.
This further raised questions regarding Woods' future as a professional golfer. His last PGA Tour start came at the 2024 Open Championship, where he missed the cut. While he did play with his son Charlie at the PNC Championship later that year, this was not an official PGA Tour event.
Amidst this uncertainty, reports from People suggest that the golfer has not given up on golf yet. The magazine reports that golf is still on his mind.
Golf is very much on Tiger's mind and will be in [the] coming months as he gets back to it here in whatever ways he can. Golf is who he is… he will do whatever he has to to get back in whatever way he can in light of his injuries and age. He is not a quitter.
A source told PeopleBefore this car crash, there were reports that Woods could even play in the Champions Tour. As he turned 50 in December last year, he became eligible for the senior Tour.
At the moment, he faces a huge setback in golf. Woods, who spent a record 683 weeks as the World No.1 golfer, would fall off completely from the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) by the 29th week of this year.
The OWGR ratings have a 'two-year rolling period.' Since his last official appearance at the Open Championship in 2024, he has not earned a single point. If he does not compete at the upcoming U.S. Open or the Open Championship in July, he will fall off the OWGR.
Tiger Woods got into trouble once again with his car when his vehicle flipped over in March. Amid his personal life struggles, Vanessa Trump is reported to have been a constant source of support for Woods.
Woods' dating life has been a huge talking point following his divorce from his ex-wife, Erin Nordegren. The golfer has been in some high-profile relationships.
In 2025, he began dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-daughter-in-law of the U.S. President Donald Trump. With the close ties he has with the President, some wondered if things would get awkward for them.
However, the two of them are reportedly deeply in love. As per People Magazine, Vanessa is eager to help the PGA Tour star overcome his problems and move on from this incident.
In the midst of this, the major question remains the same: will Woods ever get back to his best? The last time he finished inside the top-10 of an event was in 2020. Since the major car crash in 2021, he has struggled with form due to multiple injuries and surgeries. Only time will tell what will happen next with him.
