Travis Kelce Rushes From Chiefs Minicamp to Celebrate Taylor Swift's Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction

Travis Kelce made the trip from Kansas City to New York on June 11 to support his fiancée, Taylor Swift, as she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The Kansas City Chiefs star attended the ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel shortly after completing the team's mandatory three-day minicamp. Kelce joined Swift's mother, Andrea Swift, and his own mother, Donna Kelce, in celebrating the singer's latest career milestone.

His appearance came just one day after Swift attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden. Kelce was unable to accompany her courtside due to his commitments at Chiefs minicamp, but he still showed his support by liking several Instagram posts featuring Swift at the game.

Swift was among the Songwriters Hall of Fame's 2026 inductees, joining a class that included Walter Afanasieff, Terry Britten, Graham Lyle, Kenny Loggins, Alanis Morissette, Christopher 'Tricky' Stewart, and KISS founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons.

The honor adds another historic achievement to Swift's resume, as she became the youngest woman ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Under the organization's rules, songwriters become eligible for induction 20 years after the first commercial release of their work.

For consideration, Swift submitted five songs from her catalog: All Too Well (10 Minute Version), Blank Space, Anti-Hero, Love Story, and The Last Great American Dynasty.

The induction caps off a busy stretch for Swift, who recently drew attention with her appearance at the NBA Finals and was also announced as part of the voice cast for the upcoming Toy Story 5.

Founded in 1969, the Songwriters Hall of Fame recognizes songwriters whose work has had a significant impact on popular music. Fewer than 500 individuals have been inducted into the organization over the past five decades.

Taylor Swift became emotional while accepting the honor, reflecting on the sacrifices her family made to help launch her music career. During her 21-minute speech, the singer thanked her parents and brother for relocating from Pennsylvania to Nashville when she was 14 years old so she could pursue songwriting.

It couldn't have been easy for my parents and my brother to just pick up and move our entire family. Even though words are supposed to kind of be my thing, I will never be able to express my gratitude to you guys for doing that for me. You're the reason I'm here tonight.

Director Steven Spielberg introduced Swift at the ceremony. During her remarks, she described songwriting as the one part of her career that always felt natural.

When I say that songwriting was the easiest part for me, I think what I mean is that it was instinctual. No-one taught me how to do it. I had to be taught how to entertain a crowd, and learn choreography, and be less annoying and navigate the industry and fiercely protect my own sanity through difficult lessons and massive amounts of trial and error and chaos and calamity. But songwriting for me was pretty much the only thing I naturally did.

Swift is the second youngest person ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, behind Stevie Wonder, and the youngest woman to receive the honor. The recognition adds another achievement to a career that has produced 12 studio albums, four Taylor's Version rerecordings, and four Grammy Awards for Album of the Year.
