(Video) Roman Reigns Thanks Fans for 'Happy Birthday' Chants After This Week's Raw

(Video) Roman Reigns Thanks Fans for 'Happy Birthday' Chants After This Week's Raw

First Sportz 1 week ago

On this week's Raw, Roman Reigns signed the contract for his upcoming world title defense against Jacob Fatu at Clash in Italy this Sunday.

After the show went off air, 'The Tribal Chief' stayed back for a while to deliver a message to those in attendance. 'The OTC' acknowledged the crowd in Columbus for making him feel special on his birthday.

The 41-year-old talked about the challenges of being in WWE, and it gets even more difficult when one's fighting with their family. In his case, Reigns is looking to tame an unhinged 'Samoan Werewolf'. And, at times, things like these make it difficult for him to transition to a soft-spoken and endearing 'Tribal Chief' for his fans.

However, this Monday night felt like the best time for Reigns to express gratitude for each and every one of the attendees. Just then, someone from the crowd hurled a witty remark at Reigns, who countered the notion by claiming it wasn't BS and rather came straight from his heart.

Circling back to telling the fans how he's been feeling these days, although he couldn't find the exact words to describe it, 'The OTC' said he tries to remain thankful every day. 'The Head of the Table' added it felt to him as if he'd won some lottery and hoped the rest of his colleagues could have it in their lives as well.

Reigns stated there is a lot of hard work that goes into reaching a certain level. However, at the end of the day, it wouldn't happen without the fans, said the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. He thanked the house in Columbus after that and wished safe travels back home to everyone. It's not very often that Roman Reigns wears his heart on his sleeve.

That's what made the aforementioned interaction quite memorable. Now that it's out of the way, the former Bloodline boss needs to turn his attention to Clash in Italy. Although he's unbeaten in the two Tribal Combat matches that he's been a part of, the Pensacola-born wrestler is up against a freak of nature now, i.e., Jacob Fatu.

After losing his previous encounter with Reigns at Backlash, Fatu went berserk. He chose Tribal Combat based on the understanding that 'The OTC' would be left with no choice other than accepting it, as it was his obligation to do so with him sitting at the head of the table.

Just days before clashing in Italy with Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu joined ESPN's SportsCenter for a crisp chat. The 34-year-old was certain about his chances of walking out of Turin with the World Heavyweight title this time around. When asked how he's preparing for a match where neither wrestler could get disqualified, Fatu said that's exactly why one couldn't really prepare for a tricky situation like that.

The Sacramento native also affirmed how this particular match type is meant for the wrestlers of their lineage only. Fatu briefly broke character by revealing how he's feeling to be a part of the first WWE PLE in Italy. The former US Champion stressed that he's been a part of many first-time experiences since arriving on the scene in WWE.

Going toe to toe with Roman Reigns, whom he hailed as one of the all-time greats, it wouldn't get any better, affirmed Fatu. Their showdown has major implications, as the loser will have to acknowledge the winner as their 'Tribal Chief' and also fall in line with the rest of the Bloodline. It would be interesting to see if 'The OTC' will keep his title reign intact or be made to accept a demotion in his own family.
