ASSAGAO: Anjuna Police have registered an offence following a complaint by 41-year-old businessman Mahesh Dhargalkar of Munang Waddo, Assagao, alleging that he was abused and assaulted during a dispute linked to rent-a-bike business rivalry.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on August 21, 2026, at around 8.30 pm near Ulhas General Store at Munang Waddo, Assagao. The accused, identified as Honaji Sawant, allegedly abused Dhargalkar in filthy and abusive language before assaulting him with a hard object believed to be an iron rod.
Police said Dhargalkar sustained cut injuries to his left ear and injuries to his left hand in the alleged assault.
The offence was registered on August 25, 2026, at around 8.40 pm. Further investigation is being conducted by Head Constable Sandeep Pednekar (HC-5197) of Anjuna Police Station.
