GUWAHATI: In the early rounds of counting for the Assam Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Kushal Dowari has taken a lead over Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi in the Sibsagar Assembly constituency.

As per figures after Round 4, Dowari has garnered 5171 votes, maintaining a margin of 1909 over Gogoi, the sitting MLA from Sibsagar who has secured 3262 votes so far.

Among other candidates in the constituency, Prodip Hazarika of the Asom Gana Parishad has received 443 votes, while Tapan Gogoi of the Aam Aadmi Party has polled 47 votes. Additionally, 72 voters have opted for NOTA (None of the Above).
