The exercise brought together flood relief columns from the Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), highlighting seamless inter-agency coordination during flood emergencies.

Designed to enhance response capability in the event of severe flooding, the exercise simulated real-life rescue scenarios. Specialist teams demonstrated deep-water rescue operations, evacuation of stranded civilians, and emergency response techniques under challenging conditions. The drill also featured the use of advanced technologies, including drones for aerial surveillance and logistics support to isolated areas.

Officials emphasised the importance of synchronised operations, interoperability, and rapid deployment during natural disasters. The exercise effectively illustrated how multiple stakeholders can function as a unified force in crisis situations.

The event was witnessed by senior military and civil officials, including the General Officer Commanding of Gajraj Corps, Lt Gen Neeraj Shukla, along with representatives from the state administration, Central Armed Police Forces, and disaster management agencies. Around 800 attendees—including NCC and NSS cadets and students from various educational institutions in Guwahati—were present.

Addressing the gathering, Lt Gen Shukla stressed a “whole-of-society” approach to disaster management, built on the four pillars: Predict, Prepare, Protect, and Provide. He underlined the need for stronger collaboration between agencies and community participation, aligning with the vision of “Janbhagidari se Aapda Prabandhan”.

The exercise reinforced public confidence in disaster response forces and highlighted the commitment of all participating agencies to conduct regular joint training, update standard operating procedures, and strengthen emergency preparedness.
