Speaking to GPlus, the officer in-charge of Duliajan Police Station said that the blaze broke out at around 9:30 PM at a goods shop owned by Abu Bakkar Siddiq. The fire quickly intensified and spread to adjacent shops, alarming traders and customers present in the busy market area.

Emergency response teams from Oil India Limited promptly arrived at the scene to control the situation. At least three fire tenders were deployed, and firefighters battled the flames for an extended period before bringing the flames under control.

Preliminary information suggests that at least three shops were affected in the incident. While the exact extent of damage is still being assessed, authorities suspect that a short circuit may have triggered the fire.

No casualties have been reported so far. Further details are awaited.
