While seven districts- Dhemaji, Nalbari, Dibrugarh, Chirang, Lakhimpur, Kokrajhar and Biswanath- were affected earlier, the latest report shows that flood conditions have eased considerably in all districts except Dhemaji.

At present, 6,678 people in Dhemaji continue to be affected by the floods. A total of 17 villages remain inundated.

The administration is operating four relief camps and relief distribution centres, where 129 people are currently taking shelter.

The bulletin also stated that no river is flowing above the Highest Flood Level (HFL), indicating a marked improvement in the overall flood situation across the state.

Earlier, the floods had affected 46,938 people across 221 villages in seven districts, including 18,742 men, 17,375 women and 10,821 children.
