Director Srikanth Odela is returning after Dasara with The Paradise, once again collaborating with Natural Star Nani. This time, the filmmaker has created a striking world for his protagonist, including the much-discussed jadal look.
In a candid interaction, Srikanth explained the thought behind Nani's appearance and opened up about the characters played by Mohan Babu and Sampoornesh Babu.
Speaking about Nani's reaction when he was told about the unusual look, Srikanth said the actor trusted him completely. 'My best part and worst part is that I don't know what people will think. When I told Nani that he would have two jadalu, he simply said okay. Everyone told me he would be trolled. But he didn't fear of trolls, believed in me and moved forward. The jadalu are not just for the sake of the look. There is a proper reason behind them and an emotion attached to them,' he said.
Mohan Babu will be seen as the main antagonist, and Srikanth is confident that the confrontation between him and Nani will make an impact. 'He is the main villain. His character will be amazing. When you see the face-off between Nani and Mohan Babu, the theatres will definitely erupt,' the director said.
He also revealed details about Sampoornesh Babu's role. 'He is the hero's childhood friend. His name is Biryani. That character has importance in the story and it will be very fresh for him,' said Srikanth.
The filmmaker also addressed the feedback surrounding Nani's dialogue delivery in the teaser, particularly the fast-flowing dialogue. 'I received that feedback. We did the dubbing both with a base and without a base. But I felt the original flow worked better. For the intensity of that character to be correct, I felt it had to be like that. It will land perfectly in the flow of the movie,' he explained.
The Paradise is also packed with music, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the soundtrack. 'Including the bit songs, there are six songs in total. We can discuss anything with Anirudh. He worked very coolly. The best thing for me is that I may never get to work with this kind of comfort and this kind of madness again in my career. It feels like two friends working together,' Srikanth said.
The director further confirmed that The Paradise has been conceived as a single-part film. 'There is no sequel or prequel. We always wanted to make it as a single-part film,' he clarified.
He, however, clarified that a film like The Paradise is best experienced in theatres without watching the trailer beforehand. According to him, the excitement will be greater when audiences experience the content directly on the big screen.
