There is a strong murmur in the political circles that YS Jagan always prefers to be in the good books of the BJP leadership. He might be in opposition here in Andhra Pradesh, while directly standing against the NDA government, but his YCP always supports the resolution passed by the NDA in the parliament.
There is almost a sense of silent understanding between the YCP leadership and the NDA top brass. But it appears that this friendly relationship between these two entities is slowly evading.
Jagan is becoming increasingly vocal against the BJP. He recently questioned the party's credibility in aligning with Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of misleading the public with false promises. He is also stepping up his criticism over allegations of election mismanagement.
In fact, Jagan had even labelled himself as a cockroach that would rise against the current Indian administration. This was when he announced full support to the cockroach movement against the central government.
Now we have arrived at a point where BJP central minister Shivraj Chauhan has publicly spoken against Jagan. While attending a public meeting in Andhra Pradesh today, the central minister commented that Jagan had taken away the houses that were designated for the poor public from the Modi government.
The indications here are very clear as there appears to be complete fallout between the YCP and the BJP bosses. The earlier surrender tone that was maintained by YCP is no longer evident now as they're raising voice against the BJP top brass.
On top of that, Jagan was recently approached by the representatives of the left parties who reportedly invited him to join the INDIA alliance at the central level. If this somehow materialises, then Jagan will have to move closer with the Congress leadership while moving away from his traditional favourite of the BJP leadership.
There is also an argument that Jagan might be sensing significant backlash against the NDA government amongst the public due to reasons like E20 petrol, EVM allegations and others. This could have prompted him to move away from the BJP and silently hint towards the INDIA.
