Amazon's Exclusive Rights Announcement

Chennai, April 3: The renowned brand Amazon has released a public notice asserting that it holds the exclusive digital rights to the highly anticipated film 'Drishyam 3', featuring actor Mohanlal.
The notice warns that any dealings regarding the film's digital rights that violate Amazon's exclusivity will be at the risk of the involved parties.
According to a statement from Amazon Seller Services Private Limited, "This notice serves to inform that Amazon, based on valid agreements with Aashirvad Cinemas, is the sole holder of all digital rights (including SVOD, TVOD, AVOD, FVOD, and EST) for the film 'Drishyam 3' (Malayalam)."
Amazon further cautioned, "The public should be aware that these rights are exclusive to Amazon, and Aashirvad Cinemas, along with its assignees and any purportedly authorized individuals, lack the authority to sell, license, or create any third-party interests in the digital rights of the film."
It added, "Any individual or entity engaging with the film or its digital rights in violation of Amazon's exclusivity does so at their own risk and expense. Amazon reserves the right to pursue legal action, including seeking injunctions and damages, against anyone infringing on its exclusive rights or disrupting its contractual agreements regarding the film."
For those unfamiliar, 'Drishyam 3' is the third installment in the acclaimed franchise, which was officially launched with a traditional puja ceremony at a law college near Kochi last September.
Director Jeethu Joseph shared with the media that 'Drishyam 3' will delve into the next chapter of Georgekutty's life, the character portrayed by Mohanlal.
"The narrative centers on Georgekutty's life after four-and-a-half years, which is the essence of the story," Joseph explained.
Producer Antony Perumbavoor, a long-time associate of Mohanlal and instrumental in the Drishyam series' success, mentioned that the decision to proceed with the third installment followed extensive discussions.
"The overwhelming response to the first two films convinced us that Georgekutty's journey had more to reveal. We finalized this new version only after detailed discussions with Jeethu," Perumbavoor stated.
The filming took place in various locations, including Thodupuzha and Vagamon, with the final five-day schedule occurring in Ernakulam.
The Drishyam series has gained a cult following in Indian cinema, celebrated for its compelling storytelling, intricate suspense, and Mohanlal's outstanding performances.
The first film, released in 2013, set new standards in Malayalam cinema, while its sequel, launched in 2021, achieved record-breaking viewership in theaters and on streaming platforms.
